Description: Tree points generated using 2017 LiDAR/LAS Dataset and 2016 NAIP imagery. This dataset was created using the "Tree Points from LAS Dataset and NAIP" ESRI tool. This process useda LAS Dataset (preferably with buildings turned off) and NAIP 4 Band Imagery (or 3 Band Imagery) to extract tree points. The points have attributes for Slope, Vegetation, Height, Flow Accumulation and Z Range plus Accumulation (Slope, Vegetation, Height, Accum, and ZplusFlow). The definition query variables were then changed to select trees from high points. The process for this was originally designed to find high Spot Elevations from DEM and has now been modified to work with LiDAR data. The output is a Point Feature Class and a NDVI image.Thetool does not perfectly extract every tree, but is a start for a tree inventory and can be improved with further analysis. It generates an All High Points featureclass that may contain missed trees and using a modified definition queries on attributes in the All High Points may produce better results.
